As you can see, we still have a LONG way to go. The industry is still extremely racially biased, regardless if you see Beyonce and Rihanna on so many magazine covers. There’s tons of other talented women who don’t get the same treatment and who equally deserve it.Please understand that while some black women do achieve major success in the entertainment industry, they are just “it girls” for the time being, in comparison to the hundreds of white actresses, singers, and models who don’t have to put forth as much effort and energy. They just naturally fit Hollywood’s mode.
If Taraji’s role in “Person of Interest” was portrayed by Kate Hudson or Cherlize Theron, you can bet your ass that this character would’ve been on the cover of TV Guide.
